Judging by the persistome, I think the Song of Melancholy used was my flared-peristime clone.
## Plant 1
Sold 3 ft. of unrooted cuttings for $65 on Facebook Marketplace in 2021, seven years after creation. Buyer: Seth Danger Weisbrook.
Pitchers resemble spathulata, just stouter, and the peristome doesn't roll back as much. Peristome darkens up to a deep red on the lowers, but this clone did not retain the dark color of the Melvino parent . Easy bloomer, female.
I eventually lost the plant after moving to Michigan.
The photos below show the 7 year-old plant. Grown [[Nepenthes in hydroponics 1|hydroponically]], if I recall. I wish I could remember which cross the seed pod resulted from, or what happened to the seeds.
