Per [[Pearl River Exotics]], this plant originated from [[Leilani Hapu'u Nepenthes Nursery]]. I bought it as a No ID cutting, then a second time labeled as a Poi Dog. The pitchers and leaves of the two plants are identical, so I believe it is the same clone. --- ### Plant 1 Purchased on 2025-10-08 as a rooted cutting from [[Pearl River Exotics]] for $12, order # 9450. ##### 2025-10-18 Package arrived. Potted up into 1:1 perlite : sphagnum. ##### 2025-12-23 Two months later. ![[N_poi_dog_1a_2025-12-23.jpg|300]] ##### 2026-09-30 I discarded the plant. The plant had been yellowing (too much light?), and I let it dry out too much, after which it never fully recovered. --- ### Plant 2 ##### 2025-09-09 Purchased on 2025-09-09 as a rooted No ID cutting from [[Pearl River Exotics]] for $15, order # 9379. ##### 2025-09-17 Package arrived. Added to the [[Nepenthes in aeroponics|aeroponics experiment]]. ##### 2026-10-05 One year, one month after adding to the [[Nepenthes in aeroponics|aeroponics experiment]]. Lots more growth than the other cutting planted in sphagnum. No pitchers at the moment, likely due to insufficient light (it made 4 earlier in the spring). Today I potted it up into a 5" square pot using [[3to2 PerliteToBufferedCocoPeat|3:2 perlite: buffered coco peat]]. Hopefully it survives the transition. ![[N_poi_dog2_2026-10-05a.jpg|400]] The roots completely filled the 2" basket cup holding it in the aeroponics bucket. First they formed into a dense mat inside the cup, and then eventually longer roots grew and trailed outside the cup. ![[N_poi_dog2_2026-10-05b.jpg|250]] ![[N_poi_dog2_2026-10-05c.jpg|259]] ![[N_poi_dog2_2026-10-05d.jpg]] --- [[Nepenthes I've grown]] | [[Nepenthes]]
